It may be hard to define some of these terms because they have different meanings to different people. Lets have a look at some of the more common terms and their definitions.

Picking the right one

When selecting the right one, here is an example on what you want to look for:
Hair, bone structure, color, size

Color is going to effect you depending on the show and judge. I personally have shown Herefords my whole life, I have been beat with crossbreds but I love the Hereford breed that is why I stick with them. Black colored animals are a lot easier to hide flaws at a show.
